Donna Howard and her husband, Larry, moved to Berks County in May, 2002. Anxious to start farming, Donna decided to buy two Nubian goats. And that started the farm menagerie. Soon, MiniNubians joined the group and this breed turned out to be the right fit for the farm. The farm is now home to 18 goats, 20 chickens, 5 Royal Palm turkeys, 30 koi, three rescue Dalmatians (inspiration for the farm name) and five house cats.
Making soap was something Donna wanted to do for some years. After collecting books on the subject, taking a local course to overcome the fear of lye, she worked for three years on her recipes to improve their skin loving properties. Having tested the products on willing family and friends who encouraged her to start selling the soap, a business was born. Lotions and lip balm soon followed the soap to round out the offerings.
Donna loves meeting new customers, handcrafting the products and creating new ones. She is working hard to find new venues to present my goods. |
